We were there to enjoy the Taste of Tassie festival and the Sydney to Hobart Yacht finish. The apartment we stayed in was very well located for all these within short walking distance.
The apartment had some bad cracking and lifting of tiles in the courtyard area.

I cannot speak too highly of the kindness and hospitality provided. My wife had a broken ankle and needed considerable help; it was given freely. The front office staff, the housekeeping staff and management extended themselves to make her comfortable and were most kind.

The location and comfort of the apartment including the size and self catering facilities.
There was only one mirror in the whole apartment and also the lack of sheer curtains on the windows which would have been helpful with privacy. Our apartment faced houses across the road which were on the same level.

Historic charm and great ambiance.
I faced several issues with the parking situation. The parking area was not only far from the entrance but also poorly signposted, leading to confusion. Most frustratingly, the hotel staff did not address my concerns about accessibility and brushed it off, disappointing after such a lovely stay otherwise.

the location and the exterior of the hotel.
we didn't like the poorly designed bathroom. The service put our used soaking wet towels lying on the floor back to the rag. We had only one clean towel at disposition. This even after telling the staff about it and asking for new towels. Breakfast was poor in the dirty restaurant. Sparkling mineral water at the bar not available. Instead given horrible chlorine water from the tab out of the fridge. Internet not working. TV only 3 local channels. As frequent guest of the Mercure chain we couldn't believe to in a Grand Mercure Hotel.

Location - it was in the heart of the city and walking distance to the harbour-front, Salamanca Place which made it very convenient.
View from the windows - from the 4th floor we could not see outside because windows were either facing skywards, or they were at waist level and we had to crouch to look outside. Even then, the view was blocked because building features where right in front of window. Also TV's were old tube style - in this day and age we expected to have at least a 42" flat screen....

Special accommodation with pleasant and exceptional staff members on check-out. Good hot breakfast for normal continental, well priced. Marvellous location for our visit to a harbourside dock a 10-15 minute walk from the hotel.

Excellent location and very friendly staff, clean room and hot water.
For a four star hotel the bathroom was very old, I would have expected much more for what we paid.

Very close to city shops and Salamanca. The lobby is beautiful and the staff were very helpful. The room was very clean and had tea and coffee making facilities and toiletries.
The bathroom was a little old fashioned.
